Are you a numbers expert who loves turning data into insights?

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial reporting, ERP management, and compliance while driving process improvements and mentoring a growing team for our client in North York, ON. In this role you will lead month-end and year-end closings, oversee general ledger activities, mentor junior team members, and collaborate across departments to improve financial workflows. Your expertise will support growth across multiple business channels, including retail, e-commerce, and wholesale.

Responsibilities :

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to deliver accurate, timely financial statements.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accrual schedules.

Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights on P&L performance.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts within Dynamics NAV / Business Central.

Support internal reporting and dashboard preparation for leadership.

Serve as the go-to expert for Dynamics NAV / Business Central-troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance workflows.

Ensure data integrity across GL, AP, AR, Inventory, and Fixed Assets modules.

Partner with IT and operations to implement system improvements and integrations.

Ensure compliance with ASPE or IFRS standards.

Manage tax filings (HST / GST), WSIB submissions, and other regulatory requirements.

Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during year-end reviews.

Strengthen internal controls and documentation processes.

Mentor and supervise junior accounting team members.

Drive process improvements and lead special projects, including :

Opening new locations

System migrations or integrations

Financial due diligence

Margin optimization and sustainability initiatives

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA designation (completed or in progress).

Experience in retail, e-commerce, or wholesale industries.

Familiarity with inventory accounting and POS systems.

3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or retail setting.

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central.

Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting.

Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modeling).

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

A problem solver who values accuracy and insightful reporting.

Comfortable managing processes end-to-end.

Skilled at navigating ERP systems and improving workflows.

Organized, accountable, and adaptable to changing priorities.

Passionate about continuous improvement and automation
