QA Lead

Overview

Position Description

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2-3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead with strong hands-on expertise in UI automation, API testing, and Agile delivery. The ideal candidate will lead testing activities across projects, ensure high-quality deliverables, and provide both strategic and technical leadership to the QA team. This role requires strong knowledge of Java Selenium, BDD frameworks, API automation, and Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test planning, execution, and reporting for assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain UI automation scripts using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks.
• Design and execute API automation using Rest Assured and perform API testing using Postman.
• Work within a Scaled Agile environment; participate in sprint activities and provide test estimates.
• Create and maintain test cases, regression suites, and automation frameworks.
• Use Python for scripting, validations, test utilities, or automation support.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to clarify requirements, identify defects, and ensure quality delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and enforce QA best practices and standards.

Required Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of software testing experience, including UI and API automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java Selenium
• Cucumber / BDD
• Rest Assured
• Postman
• Python scripting
• Experience working in Scaled Agile (SAFe) environments.
• Solid understanding of test planning, defect management, and automation frameworks.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in financial services or enterprise environments is an asset.

Compensation

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
