Pilates Instructor
About the Role
Responsibilities
- Class preparation; facility and equipment set-up.
- Program design for all levels of Pilates.
- Lead participants on proper breathing techniques and poses.
- Document participant attendance.
- Support and mentor developing student staff.
- Supervision of participants to correct and improve experience techniques.
- Regular input, feedback, and communication with the Fitness & Customer Experience Supervisor regarding operational enhancement of the MOVE MORE group fitness program.
- Facility equipment inspection and maintenance; report as required.
- Build meaningful relationships by engaging and communicating with participants, assessing participant capability, actively listening, showing compassion, building rapport, and offering ongoing coaching / motivation.
- Demonstrate professionalism (communication, uniform, punctuality).
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Complete MRU online Risk Management training.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Pilates certification
- 1 - 3 years of Pilates instructor experience
Preferred
- Degree or diploma in a fitness / health-related area of study from a recognized college or university.
- Additional specialty-related certifications.
