Responsibilities
The Electrical EIT assists Engineers in the design of electrical systems including lighting, fire alarm, power and electrical systems.

- Work to develop strong, ongoing relationships with clients
General Management
Keep Group Leader apprised of activitiesLead by example, following proper proceduresParticipate in training courses and show initiative for professional developmentProvide insightful and enthusiastic assistance to other staffSchedule workload appropriately, maximizing productive timeWork enthusiastically with the Group to accomplish common objectivesProduction
Attend client design meetingsAttend coordination meetingsCheck drawings for quality control using checklistComply with company Design Standards and CAD StandardsCoordinate work with other disciplines including Mechanical, Architectural and StructuralCreate working drawings with AutoCADDevelop electrical system schematics and riser diagramsEngineer systems in accordance with OBC, OESC, ASHRAE, IES and / or other relevant Codes and StandardsExploit sustainable and energy efficient opportunities as appropriateIdentify and coordinate required site servicesLiaise with local utilities, municipalities and authorities as required.Maintain design files in an organized and up-to-date fashion in accordance with company Project Management StandardsMonitor drawing productionPerform lighting calculationsPerform site audits to confirm existing conditionsPrepare Design BriefPrepare block layouts and assist with space planningPrepare CCNs and SIs as requiredPrepare Engineering Reports as requiredPrepare motor control schedulePrepare sequences of operation for fire alarm systemProduce detailed specifications using Master SpecificationProvide periodic site reviews and attend site meetings as required during constructionReport to Group Leader any project related quality, speed or scheduling issueReview and comment on shop drawing submittalsSize and select equipment including lighting, distribution equipment, UPS, generator, fire alarm, etc.Skills & Qualifications
