Position Summary

Our Medical Integrated Program is the single largest clinical team in the hospital. Encompassing three floors (B6, B7 and B8) this program has a varying patient population with acute care needs.

MIP is a hospitalist led model of care, including RNs, RPNs and PSWs, practicing to their full scope. Nurses on these units will be given the opportunity to cross train between all of three floors, allowing them to learn new roles and help their colleagues as patient needs and census changes

Education Requirements

Graduate of an accredited college nursing program

Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Mandatory Qualifications

Current two (2) years of experience in a medical / surgical setting

Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Ability to establish positive and proactive work relationships with external partners

Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions.

Preferred Competencies

Member of RPNAO

Ability to be a coach, teacher and mentor to colleagues and students

Demonstrated competence in patient assessment and care planning

Reliable individual with excellent attendance record and able to work all shifts
