About the Role
This person is accountable to support the Maintenance function by preventing and repairing equipment breakdowns.
Shift : 8 Months on Afternoons then transition to Night Shift
Pay Rate : $31.70 - $33.71
Your Responsibilities
- Perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical problems
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) schedules (as required) on machinery and Plant Support equipment
- Suggest preventative measures to minimize or eliminate breakdowns
- Key member in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvements
- Operate laptop computer to troubleshoot and suggest change / improvements to PLC programming
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of ROBOTICS automation and programming
- Read and develop schematics
- Maintain correct safety standards at all times
- Complete all check sheets and records as it relates to the P.M. program, Work Orders, etc.
- Member of the Emergency Response Team
- Diagnose and repair basic electrical / mechanical / pneumatic problems with equipment
- Modify machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed
- Install, set up, and commission new equipment
- Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customers
- Perform other duties as required
Who we are looking for
- Completion of college diploma / certificate in relevant discipline
- 3 - 5 years of work-related experience considered an asset
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred
- Knowledge of PLC / HMI programming and troubleshooting along with Robot programming and troubleshooting is an asset
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot industrial networks (DeviceNet, EthernetIP)
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot machine safety circuits and applications (ABB Jokab)
- Understanding of VGD, DC and Servo Drive systems
- Familiar with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, Omron)
- Previous experience and exposure to robotics (ABB, Motoman) an asset
- Understanding of Data Tracking and the use of Barcode Scanners or RFID
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematic design specification, update drawings as required.
- Minimum 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiar with the Safe Handling and Storage of compressed gases
