Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of IT, this position will be the technical leader for the Bunzl GRP (Grocery, Retail & Processor) and R3 (Redistribution) segments, providing technical support for a suite of applications within our internal and external information space.
You will be responsible for leading all aspects related to supporting, maintaining and improving use of those applications as well as implementing new applications.
You will collaborate with application development and support teams, business partners, infrastructure specialists and application vendors.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining key relationships within the enterprise that can be leveraged for improved communication, planning and deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between business and technical resources to help build solutions and manage projects.
- Be the key resource for managing application enhancements, EDI integrations, and resolving production support issues. You will use many skills in doing so, such as coding, configuration, and data queries, and will be eager to learn new skills as needed.
- Will develop a deep understanding of the application architecture and workflows as relates to data movement across multiple application systems
- Will be responsible for documentation that will assist in capturing and perpetuating subject matter expertise within the teams
- Will effectively engage with all team members and business partners to successfully maintain strong, healthy, honest relationships
- Constantly look for opportunities to improve the use of the applications both in business processes and by automating IT processes.
- Implement new applications to support business deliverables, becoming the IT subject matter expert.
- Travel as needed - up to 20% within Canada (occasionally) the United States.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Logistics / Supply Chain, and / or Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Three (3) years of application support and / or business analysis experience, and / or Five (5) years of experience with supply-chain management, warehouse management and similar systems.
- Experience supporting and / or using all aspects of ERP systems
- Experience supporting e-commerce platforms and CRM applications
- Natural curiosity to learn, to troubleshoot issues and to understand the root cause of problems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, that will enable the candidate to manage cross-functional teams along with enhancing both business and team member relationships
- Experience with IBM i or zSeries systems would be an asset
- Certification and / or experience in project management is an asset
