Purpose
This is a full-time position located in one of our Alberta offices, with an option to work remotely for the foreseeable future.
Our Groundwater Practice within the Water service line is seeking an energetic individual with strong technical, leadership, and communication skills who is ready for career progression and eager to help lead and grow a business.
We are seeking someone with proven strong technical consulting, leadership, and communications skills. Individuals should have experience successfully working within a team to deliver professional services.
Candidates experienced in the water and / or environmental industry in Western Canada, particularly the oil sands, are preferred.
Opportunity to provide technical support globally to projects outside of Canada is also possible with Worley.
Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Under operational and technical direction, provide senior technical and consulting support for a variety of hydrogeology projects including, but not limited to, groundwater characterization, monitoring, data analysis and visualization, contaminants and risk management, groundwater resource assessment and sustainability, and permitting.
- Plan and guide hydrogeologic investigations to solve complex problems. Design and coordinate studies on conceptual models;
analyze and interpret the resulting data. Evaluate project progress and identify and implement change when necessary.
- Prepare and / or provide a senior review of technical correspondence, project scope, and cost proposals, technical reports, memoranda, work plans, and project specifications.
- Be client-facing. Present technical information internally and externally to clients in writing and verbally in a confident, concise, and professional manner.
- Support team business development activities including client interaction and customer relationship management, contribute to business development plans, identify markets / potential clients and related sales targets, and assist the team in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals and Request for Qualifications.
- Train, mentor, and develop graduate, junior, and intermediate staff.
- Collaborate with other water, geoscience, engineering, and environmental practice experts.
- Take initiative and possess excellent verbal communication and writing skills, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good time-management skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.
- Senior-level experience in groundwater consulting in Alberta.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, delivering quality results, while under pressure.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Technical, supervisory, and client management experience.
- Demonstrated capability to train, mentor, and develop junior and intermediate staff.
- Professional Geologist in Alberta (APEGA).
