Responsibilities

  • Monitor server performance, capacity utilization, and log data to identify potential issues or anomalies
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, security patching, and backups
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software-related problems on physical and virtual servers
  • Implement and test server failover, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
  • Collaborate with network, storage, and application teams to ensure end-to-end system health
  • Document server configurations, change management processes, and operational procedures
  • Maintain server inventory records and asset management information
  • Analyze server and system metrics to identify optimization opportunities and make recommendations
  • Provide on-call support and after-hours incident response as needed
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new server architectures and technologies
  • Assist in the development of server-related policies, standards, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in server administration, operations, or IT support roles
  • In-depth knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux), and virtualization technologies
  • Proficient in administering and troubleshooting common enterprise server applications and services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues
  • Experience with cloud operations / Azure support; Experience with system monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g. PowerShell, Bash)
  • Understanding of network protocols, storage systems, and IT security best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document procedures and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Certification in server-related technologies (e.g. Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat) is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24 / 7 IT operations environment
