POSITION SUMMARY :
Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Labourer located at its Vancouver sugar refinery. JOB DESCRIPTION :
You will perform routine packaging line assembly as well as clean and sanitize line work stations / areas. Your strong work ethic and can-do attitude are enhanced by the flexibility to work three rotating shifts on a weekly basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment
- Check and weigh materials and products
- Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products
- Assist Machine Operators, Assemblers and other workers
- Clean work areas and equipment
- Perform other labouring and elemental activities
- Operate powered pallet / straddle jacks
- Other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Fast paced environment; repetitive tasks for varying durations; handling heavy loads (25kgs); physically demanding at times;
manual dexterity needed; attention to detail; hand-eye coordination; standing for extended periods; work can involve crouching, lifting, walking and turning with varying weights.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Heavy industry; shift work (8 hour rotating shifts).
- Must speak and understand English
A pre-employment medical and drug screen is required along with employment references and criminal record check.
IN RETURN YOU CAN EXPECT :
- Above average pay currently starting at $32.54 / hour reaching maximum pay after 1 year which is currently $36.16 / hour
