About this opportunity :

The Cenovus SAP Finance Solutions Team, which performs and optimizes the Financial Closing in ECC6 and S / 4 HANA, has a challenging opportunity available for a Senior Business Analyst with superior analytical and business problem solving skills.

What you’ll do :

Perform Financial Closing in SAP ECC6 and S / 4 HANA Central Finance systems :

Consistently implement a series of detailed, written instructions to perform time-sensitive, critical month-end close tasks in SAP.

Continuously improve the Month-End-Closing schedule, jobs, transactions, variants, documentation with the overall aim to deliver Best-In-Class reporting against Best-in-Class timelines.

Coach and train Business Analysts in the execution of month-end closing and related tasks.

Complete SAP ECC6 to S / 4 HANA, Group Reporting, and SAP BW Reconciliations.

Recognize and diagnose issues and implement improvements related to daily and monthly SAP Jobs.

Complete and implement improvements for all Joint Venture month-end processes.

Ensure compliance with all applicable security and internal control guidelines.

Implement new and maintain existing assessment, distribution, and other allocation cycles.

Work closely together with SAP Finance Business Solutions Master Data Team when optimizing and resolving issues in the areas of Master Data, and data replication between ECC6 and S / 4 HANA.

Communicate Finance Master Data requirements in the following areas :

Cost centers, cost elements, joint venture master data, general ledger accounts, hierarchies, legal entities, profit centers, sets etc.

in multiple SAP systems.

Master Data and Enterprise Structure Management in Group Reporting.

Conduct Finance Master Data business risk analysis by evaluating proposed FMD changes and resolving potential impact and consequences of requested changes on key business processes and stakeholders.

Provide Finance Master Data subject matter expertise in support of all business process changes, and all SAP system transformation, migration, implementation, and optimization projects.

Review, register, research and resolve Closing and Reporting support requests and documenting / tracking these in ServiceNow.

Supporting SAP S / 4 and legal entity optimization projects.

Develop a Best-In-Class month-end-closing schedule in cooperation with the CORE Optimization project team.

Represent the SAP Finance Solutions team in the CORE Optimization project by providing Cenovus specific SAP Financial Reporting, SAP Closing expertise and Joint Venture Accounting expertise during the Design, Test, and Cutover phases of the project.

Who you are : Required :

Required :

A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Business Administration, Accounting or Finance) or Computer Information Systems or equivalent education and experience.

Minimum of 10 years working experience with SAP (preferably in the Canadian petroleum industry).

Previous experience in systems analysis and / or business process improvement.

Advanced proficiency in managing SAP Financial Master Data and querying related backend tables.

Preferred : CPA designation.

CPA designation.

Experience with SAP Business Warehouse (BW / BOBJ), PowerBI, SAP Group Reporting and Winshuttle (or similar upload tools) .
