P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products.
The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati.
In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

Your Role
As Head Miller, the successful candidate will be responsible for all milling related operations, including the cleaning department, ensuring that all tasks are properly executed as per Company standards.
This position will primarily oversee and provide leadership to the Saskatoon Flour Mill but will support other areas at our Saskatoon location.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Day to Day
- Manage the Mill and provide support to other departments.
- Daily, perform milling performance evaluations, inspection, and follow up on assigned duties.
- Monitor, control and focus on improving efficiencies in the Mill through communication, troubleshooting, and working with staff.
- Liaise with production planning, transportation and maintenance on flour needs and downtime.
- Work with staff to develop standardized operating procedures (SOP).
- Maintain documents and records in accordance with pertinent regulatory and company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures are being implemented and enforced.
- Maintain a safe working environment and a high standard of housekeeping and sanitation in accordance with BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) and Food Safety procedures.
- Ensure the ongoing training of all personnel in accordance with company policies and standards.
- Implement and manage wheat grist changes as required.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to develop and maintain the Mill preventive maintenance program.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education with a degree or diploma in flour milling from the Swiss Milling School or National Association of British and Irish Millers (NABIM) or equivalent training in flour milling science and technology is required.
- Several years of industry experience in the food or beverage processing or manufacturing industry.
- A minimum of 5 years of related supervisory experience is required with preference given to prior experience as a Head Miller, Mill Lead Hand or Mill Supervisor.
- Ability to communicate orally and in written and electronic form.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Previous experience managing in a represented, multi-shift operation is preferred.
