Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the successful design, production, coordination and management of structural building designs
Independently perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards
Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with clients and internal team members in the development of designs and preparation of technical specifications of structural building systems
Prepare structural analysis and calculation reports
Coordinate with other business lines and engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution
Conduct reviews to ensure that engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, analysis) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices
Assist in organizing and maintaining structural design guidelines
Provide engineering support and supervision to EITs, Technologists, Technicians and CAD / REVIT staff
Review shop drawings for structural adequacy and compliance with structural drawings
Carry out business development activities including client liaison, proposal preparation and promotional work
Prepare or assist in preparation of engineering fee estimates for bids and proposals on structural engineering
Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide recommendations
Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations
Stay updated on codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering and six (6) years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Manitoba in good standing
Holding security clearance or the ability to obtain secret level security clearance
Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules
Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential)
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in structural engineering after receiving P.Eng., including demonstrated leadership in design delivery
Experience in IPD (Integrated Project Delivery)
Experience in structural design of industrial plants, commercial buildings, government facilities, municipal infrastructure, and transit stations
Proficiency in 3D structural analysis, modeling, and design software including ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, and other CAD tools relevant to this role
Proven expertise in applying major structural design codes and standards (NBCC, MBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.1, CSA A23.3, CSA S304, CSA O86, AISC 360, ACI 350, ACI 318, etc.)
Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and / or work independently
Self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task

Occasional business travel within Manitoba and in Western Canada may be required
Compensation
Offered rate of compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is CAD 100000 – CAD 140000 per year.
