Wesrec has partnered with a BC based Group of Companies to hire a Manager, Corporate Development. The company owns and operates businesses in Forestry, Logging, Civil Construction and Mechanical Services industries, working collaboratively with trade partners to deliver sustainable solutions and shared success.

This is a remote work opportunity, but will require some travel within BC.

This is an exciting role for us to hire for, as the company is growing larger and is carving out the Corporate Development function for the first time, so this is an opportunity to truly leave your mark and create value as you will be the key contributor to building our the Corporate Development Program.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop the Corporate Development program (strategy, goals, performance markers, financial models, policies, procedures, and playbook).
  • Develop research and strategy for acquisitions and partnership, negotiation, and risk mitigation, working with senior leadership and business development.
  • Prepare and manage financial aspects of transactions including financial modeling, forecasting, IRR, risk assessment, due diligence, valuation, and purchase accounting.
  • Assist in reviewing and drafting legal documents, financing agreements, term sheets etc.
  • Project manage integrations of acquisitions including deliverables, goals and communicating updates with senior leadership.
  • Prepare covenant and cash flow projections, consolidations, and reporting, credit reports, and identify and review options for financing.

Requirements :

  • 5+ years experience related to corporate development strategy and execution, stakeholder management and partnership cultivation, private equity, investment banking, mergers & acquisitions etc.
  • Proven technical proficiency in financial modeling, valuations, and business case building.
  • Experience in establishing Indigenous partnerships is strongly preferred, as the company seeks to build partnerships that provide economic reconciliation for Indigenous Peoples.
  • Experience in related industries such as Forestry, Civil Construction, Management Consulting preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications such as MBA, CPA, CFA, CBV considered an asset.
