Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced New Britain screw machine operator to set up, operate, and maintain multi-spindle screw machines for high-volume production of precision metal parts. The ideal candidate can work independently, read prints, hold tight tolerances, and maintain consistent quality and output.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor New Britain multi-spindle screw machines
Load bar stock and adjust feeds, speeds, cams, and tooling
Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and specifications
Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges , etc.
Make tooling offsets and adjustments to maintain tolerances
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean
Meet production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards
Work with supervisors and quality team to resolve non-conformances
Requirements
Proven experience operating New Britain screw machines
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
Ability to read blueprints and hold close tolerances
Experience with measuring and inspection tools
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Dependable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Setup experience (not just operator)
Experience with high-volume production environments
Secondary operations experience (drilling, tapping, deburring)
Basic maintenance or tooling change experience
Work Conditions
Shop / manufacturing environment
Standing for extended periods
Handling metal parts and tooling
