- Client Overview : We are hiring for a leading technology company with a focus on hardware research in the MSR Azure team.
- Role Summary : As a Lab IT Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the day-to-day operation of a hardware lab, ensuring its functionality, and supporting the research team in their experiments and projects.
4. What are the key responsibilities?
- Responsibilities and Duties :
- Perform regular hardware condition inspections and document component health status.
- Conduct device inventory to prevent loss or damage of MS assets.
- Troubleshoot software issues, hardware problems, and network connectivity issues.
- Set up new computers, install necessary software, and ensure network connectivity.
- Check and update the OS, drivers, and firmware of systems for optimal performance.
- Conduct security checks, run antivirus scans, and update security protocols.
- Regularly back up important data to prevent loss in case of system failure.
- Manage IT equipment inventory and document processes.
- Implement and maintain virtual machines, databases, and storage services.
- Communicate with vendors for hardware and software purchases and issue resolution.
5. What experience are we looking for to drive success?
- MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computers, engineering).
- 1+ years of experience in a hardware lab environment.
- Proficiency in Office 365 for business communication, data analysis, and document creation.
- Knowledge of commonly used Linux / Windows commands for computer and resource configuration.
- Experience with SSH, VirtualBox, and Docker for IT asset management.
- Preferred Skills and Qualifications :
- Familiarity with IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface).
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Azure CLI, Azure Portal (web).
