You as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator (Building Group) will :
- Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment / treatment and accident / injury reports
- Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
- Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
- Review of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittals
- Review and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittals
- Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to : WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR / First Aid
- Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statistics
- Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture
Is this the right role for you?
- You have a minimum of 2 years' of safety experience on Institutional, Commercial and Residential Construction Projects
- You hold at minimum a valid OFA L3 certificate (or able to obtain an OFA L3)
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset
- Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an asset
- Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an asset
- You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
- Biligual (French and English) is required
- CNESST Certified is required
