Corporate / Real Estate Legal Assistant

The Corporate & Real Estate Legal Assistant is a full-time, permanent position based in downtown Toronto. The role involves supporting legal transactions related to corporate and real estate matters.

The ideal candidate will assist with document preparation, transaction management, and client communication, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

45-60k, pending experience

Duties :

  • Handle corporate searches, PPSA summaries, and closing documents; prepare and maintain closing agendas and report books.
  • Draft and revise commercial contracts, such as shareholder agreements, leases, and security documents; process title insurance and manage communications with title insurance companies.
  • Conduct title and off-title searches, review due diligence materials and manage leasing matters, including lease preparation and renewals.
  • Support the purchase, sale, and refinancing of commercial and residential properties; prepare and review closing documents and client communications.
  • Facilitate commercial and residential financing for clients by preparing necessary legal documents and ensuring compliance with lending conditions.
  • Maintain files, prepare administrative documents, conduct conflict searches, and manage document production using various software tools.
  • Draft correspondence, manage calendars, provide administrative support, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the legal industry.
  • Diploma as a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, including Teraview documentation and title insurance.
  • Familiarity with commercial leasing, Corp-link, and Cyberbahn is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using legal and office software, including Teraview, Conveyancer, MatterSphere, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
