Assembly Operator

Job Description Summary

The position of Assembly Operator I is an entry level positions that involves the safe and correct use of all equipment and the assembly of a variety of Workrite products.  The Operator I is responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or instructions.  They verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products.  The Assembly Operator I reports to the Operations & Site Manager.

The duties and responsibilities of an Assembly Operator I will consist of, but are not limited to, the following :

• Perform individual assembly steps per work order requirements.
• Assemble parts for final packaging.
• Perform QC (quality control) inspection of products to spot obvious flaws.
• Pick and / or Pack individual orders and palletize freight shipments.
• Maintain working knowledge of product assemblies and requirements.
• Must use all provided PPE (Personal protective equipment) as required. For example, safety glasses and safety toe shoes.
• Use of pallet jack, forklift or other material handling equipment as required and assigned.
• Perform scheduled routine custodial duties that may include lifting, sweeping, removing trash and other duties necessary to maintain safe and clean work areas.
• Other duties as assigned
