Senior Data Specialist
The Senior data specialist serves as a key liaison between GFL business stakeholders, our shared services payables team, our vendor partner, and our IT Infrastructure organization.
The candidate will be thoroughly involved with our Telecomm Expense Management (TEM) solution, providing leadership, identifying best practices and seeking opportunities for improvement while driving efficacy and promoting usage for the solution at GFL.
The IT Telecom and Infrastructure team is seeking a hands-on and passionate data analyst who demonstrates ownership and is excited about managing and organizing data.
Key Responsibilities :
Partner with GFL’s Shared Services Payables team to organize our complete Telecom, both Fixed and Mobility, landscape in the Tangoe solution.
Confirm, in TEM system, all vendor contract anniversaries and communicate any upcoming vendor renewals for negotiation to senior IT management.
Ensure all Telecom invoicing is appropriately represented in Tangoe for approval and processed for payment processing.
Confirm vendor contract parameters against actual invoice details and engaging with the vendor for correction.
Analyze the TEM system solution information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics.
Use data visualization tools to further business insights industry best practices.
- Translate monthly and quarterly vendor recommendations for optimization and lead the execution of the noted opportunities to delivery.
- Absorb the TEM solution as the key SME for the program, promoting usage and managing the change process with the extended Controllers community.
Train less experienced users on the TEM system, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
- Connect with senior IT business leaders to align and communicate on TEM solution success targets and the tracking of business results.
- Identify and drive saving opportunities withing the TEM system or as it relates to telecom services.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies :
- University Degree in Computer Science and / or (5) years of related experience in the Telecom vendor solutions landscape.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner across functional and technical departments.
- Strong understanding and previous experience with Telecom Expense Management Solutions.
- The candidate must be energetic, driven and committed to TEM solution success while working under tight time constraints and pressure.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards and working independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated stakeholder / relationship management and networking skills with financial and analytical aptitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Goal-orientated and able to overcome obstacles to deliver objective performance metrics.
