The Role
The Sales Representative will build relationships and increase volume with Retail and Food Service partners, as well as seek out and secure new opportunities while in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role will act as a champion and ambassador for 49th Parallel Coffee and the Specialty Coffee movement across Ontario and Quebec.
This is a permanent full-time role, with an emphasis on time in the field. The primary focus is on the Greater Toronto area, with management of Ontario & Quebec, and the successful candidate must be based in the Toronto area.
Primary Responsibilities
Retail Store Growth
- Engage with Store Managers / Teams to educate and advocate on our brand
- Drive brand awareness in top stores through negotiation of secondary merchandising and display opportunities
- Prospect and close on new Retail stores to increase distribution for the brand
- Conduct compliance checks to ensure availability and report on stock issues
Food Service Account Management
Build strong relationships with our Café and Restaurant partners in the regionProspect and close on new Cafes and Restaurants to increase distribution for the brandConduct regular visits to offer staff training, and product and equipment supportIdentify other big opportunities for brand exposureProduct Trial Program
Conduct In-Store Demos (1-2 per month)Engage with customers to create excitement and connections with our brandOnsite support for any third-party sampling events including Costco RoadshowsFollow guidelines for demo including set up / take down procedures and coffee preparationEducate customers on our brand, coffee preparation and key selling featuresMaintenance of Demo equipment, transportation, and storageStrengthen Relationships with other Stakeholders
Build relationships with our Broker and Distributor partners to gain influenceEducate Broker and Distributor teams on our brand and key selling featuresWork closely and meet with these teams to identify opportunities and build volumeOther Special Projects as determined by the Leadership Team
What’s Required
Ability to act as an ambassador of the brand and demonstrate the Company ValuesMinimum two (2) years of Food Service and / or Retail / Grocery sales experienceSpecialty Coffee industry experience highly valuedFrench language skills highly valuedDesire and drive to negotiate and open new business opportunitiesStrong communication (verbal and written) skillsDemonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skillsValid Driver’s license, clean driving record, and vehicle requiredMinimum of 32 hours per week in the fieldPhysical Demands
Some moderate lifting and daily travel by car will be required to perform the essential functions of this roleSalary Range : $58,000-$70,000 base
