I am currently recruiting for one of my clients, an automation firm located in Boucherville, an automation programmer - Permanent position 40 hours a week - finish at noon on Fridays.

Your position

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be in charge of the following tasks :

Study and analyze information relevant to the realization of assigned projects, such as technical specifications, electrical drawings, input / output lists, functional descriptions, etc.

  • Collaborate in the design of cost-effective solutions to meet customer requirements for assigned projects / contracts.
  • Develop control architectures as well as connection and sequence sketches.
  • Program different types of PLCs (Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens)
  • Program and design HMI operator interfaces
  • Program data acquisition software (SCADA)
  • Carry out system start-ups
  • Research and identify the cause of failures and implement corrective actions
  • Document configuration or troubleshooting procedures
  • Respond to service calls and ensure rapid and efficient repair of equipment sold to customers
  • Respond to requests for information, whether technical or related to work progress
  • Carry out all other related tasks leading to the success of projects

    Your profile

  • At least 2-4 years' experience in a similar position in automation
  • Professional English
  • The use of English is required for this position for the following reasons :

    Communication with international customers : As some of our customers are based abroad, you will be required to communicate regularly with them in English, both orally and in writing.

    Working with English-speaking partners : You will be required to work with English-speaking suppliers and partners to monitor orders and manage contracts.

    Drafting documents in English : You will be responsible for drafting reports, proposals and contracts in English, for our international customers.

  • Education : DEC minimum Priority will be given to experience
  • SCADA / HMI (Ignition)

    PLC programming

    Industrial communication protocols

  • Salary up to $115k depending on experience and education.
  • Office and floor position, full insurance 50% paid by employer, paid vacations negotiable depending on experience, Friday afternoon off.
