Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Representative Retail, will be responsible to achieve assigned sales goals by identifying new leads, prospecting new accounts, upselling and cross-selling DIGI Canada’s current and newly offered line of retail weigh, price, labeling equipment, ESL, POS, and non-DIGI equipment in the Prairies for existing and new customers.
This is an evolving role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and attract new customers and collaborate with DIGI Canada sales managers to maintain relationships with existing accounts to achieve set sales goals under the direction of Sales Manager
- Manage all aspects of the customer relationship within the assigned categories
- Implement sales plans and growth strategies to promote and establish the assigned products line to gain a strong foothold in the retail industry in collaboration with the Sales Manager
- Travel to customer locations across the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba as required to successfully sell assigned DIGI core products and non-DIGI equipment.
Willingness to be up to 60% on the road visiting potential customers, 40% working from home office
- Cross-sell and upsell DIGI products within the assigned categories
- Prepare sales proposals and value propositions based on customer needs and expectations
- Provide quotations for customers using price and delivery guidelines and use sound business judgment to enhance volume and margins
- Prepare sales presentations with collaboration with DIGI Canada marketing team to create product, service, solution understanding and awareness along with return-on-investment calculations
- Deliver technical presentations to customers
- Source and develop customer referrals as an additional strategy to gain business
- Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities; communicate such information internally and drive corrective strategies or actions
- Update CRM as required per the set standard process
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Successful completion of high school diploma required, other certifications are an asset
- Willingness to learn DIGI Canada products
- Technically inclined with sound mathematical skills. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Valid driver’s license and passport
- Must have a designated home office space
- Excellent English communication skills, both written & verbal
- Excellent presentation skills
- Good analytical, planning / organizational skills and ability to transpose strategy into action
- Self-disciplined with a high sense of urgency and excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficiency using computer applications, including CRM, Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proactive approach, and strong customer service skills
