Position

This is a full‑time (1.0 FTE) temporary position commencing January 16, 2026 and ending April 9, 2026. Art Smith Aviation Academy is located on the 4 Wing Air Force Base in the City of Cold Lake, serving approximately 290 students in Kindergarten to Grade 9. The academy offers a K‑to‑9 program in English and a K‑to‑6 French Immersion program to families in the Cold Lake area, with a strong focus on the needs of military dependents.

The Academy is seeking a dedicated and caring Teacher to teach Science and Language Arts, and Elementary Physical Education, and to work collaboratively with the school community to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment where all students learn and excel.

Reporting & Responsibilities

• Ensure effective planning, instruction and assessment for students
• Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes outlined in the Alberta Curriculum
• Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population
• Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community
• Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community
