Who you are :

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Embedded Developer who will be responsible for designing, writing, and testing embedded C code for Geotab’s GO telematics devices. What you’ll do :

This position also maintains and improves testing tools and processes, ensuring that new releases perform as expected. Part of this role involves collaborating with other embedded systems developers, engineers, and internal technical teams in determining the architecture and constraints of the project.

How you’ll make an impact :

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the GO device firmware and how all the modules work.
• Perform firmware development on RTOS / Bare Metal systems in the required area of expertise (modem, GPS, vehicle data, security, etc) using embedded C as per the development standards.
• Write unit tests and perform integration and system‑level testing in both real and simulated vehicles, to demonstrate that new features meet design requirements.
• Write SQL queries and Python scripts on data from Google BigQuery to determine device health and effectiveness of new functionality.
• Conduct comprehensive testing and code reviews to ensure that industry coding standards are followed.
• Debug firmware issues and identify areas for code improvements.
• Keep up‑to‑date documentation for all areas of responsibility.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.

Hiring Range : $85,000 - $110,000 CAD
