3D Modeling Technician

Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a 3D Modeling Technician for a large, multi-disciplinary Hydropower construction project located in Canada.

The selected candidate will interact daily with the project team and reporting directly to the project BIM lead.

The responsibilities of the 3D Modeling Technician include, but are not limited to :

  • Analyzes and adheres to the project BIM standards.
  • Prepares finished design drawings from sketches, notes, and layout details in CAD 2D and 3D.
  • Works in engineering project collaboration software platforms (i.e., ProjectWise, BIM360).
  • Performs quality checks through self- and peer-quality reviews.
  • Works in a team-based environment that involves coordination with colleagues based in different offices.
  • Co-ordinates and collaboratively delivers projects with teams of engineers, designers, project managers and architects on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Performs the responsibilities under limited supervision.
  • Mentors junior and intermediate staff and provides quality oversight.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • 6 years applicable experience working as 3D modeler Technician on industrial construction projects.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of 3D software Bentley MicroStation.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Technical Diploma 10+ years applicable experience in large multidisciplinary construction projects.
  • Hydropower and infrastructure design / construction experience.
  • Working experience in 3D modeling using Bentley Software (OpenBuilding Designer, OpenPlant Designer and ProjectWise) is preferred.
  • Experienced using common data environments Bentley ProjectWise
  • Knowledge of applicable Canadian standards and guidelines.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication
  • Ability to work in both the in-person and virtual environment.

Additional Information

The selected candidate may work from anywhere in Canada with office and site visits.
