About the Opportunity

• Perform daily accounting activities such as posting and reconciling cash deposits and processing and reconciling payables
• Perform monthly bank and GL account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Complete accounting entries for operating properties and the golf course
• Prepare monthly HST returns and other compliance reporting for government authorities (EHT, WSIB, WCB)
• Identify and investigate variances between GL accounts and subsidiary ledgers
• Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed to correct discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Develop and maintain continuity schedules for key balance sheet accounts, such as prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and deferred revenue
• Monitor and update continuity schedules on a regular basis to reflect changes in transactions and account balances
• Assist in the analysis of continuity schedules to support financial forecasting and budgeting activities
• Maintain organized and up-to-date AP records for management of payments and reporting
• Prepare annual property tax returns for management review
• Support seasonal staff payroll processing for the golf course
• Prepare and maintain monthly rent rolls for management review
• Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actual financial results to budgeted or forecasted amounts
• Assist the team with special projects

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a focus on GL reconciliation, AP processing, A / R and bank reconciliations.
• CPA enrollment is an asset however not required.
• Strong understanding of ASPE accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. (pivot tables and Vlookups)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $75,000 / year
