Our 10-acre campus provides modern facilities, as well as beautiful outdoor spaces and a daily connection to nature Crofton House School is seeking an experienced elementary school educator to teach French as an additional language.

French is taught in the Junior School from Grade 1-7. The grade levels for this position will be determined by the strengths and experiences of the candidates and the right fit for the program.

You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School.

Teach French as an additional language ? Work with Junior School students; the grade level will be determined based on candidate strengths and program needs.

Establish lively, engaging classes ? Integrate French culture into lessons ? Ensure continuity of language learning competencies in a vertical and horizontal manner across the Junior School in collaboration with colleagues ?

Collaborate with all Junior School teachers ? Differentiate expectations for language learners ? Implement and integrate instructional technology to support learning ?

Implement the BC Curriculum for French as a second language, with a focus on the application of the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling approach.

Participate in the Junior School co-curricular program Requirements / Qualifications : ? Native-like French language skills (oral and written) ?

Familiarity with TPRS an asset ? B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification ? Bachelors Degree or equivalent ?

Understanding of how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level ? Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching ?

Excellent written and oral communication skills ? Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail ?

Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community Employment and Application Details : Classes begin in September 2024 following teacher orientation in late August 2024.
