We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Job Search Specialist (also known as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist). As a member of the WorkSafe BC Provider network, the Job Search Specialist (Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist) will provide individualized services for resume and cover letter preparation, Job Search Skills, and Individual Job Placement support. Role and responsibilities: •                  Accept referral and review the client plan/documentation as provided by the referral source. •                  Provide services to adults who have disabilities and are challenged by employment barriers. •                  Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying realistic employment options through vocational testing, assessment, and exploration. •                  Conduct transferable skills analysis and labour market research. •                  Assess client motivation to work and disability-related employment barriers and provide supportive measures to ensure individual success. •                  Develop and prepare cover letters and resumes; Deliver job search skills training program. •                  Monitor and document client progress and intervene where appropriate to ensure viable and appropriate client/employer matches. •                  Provide individualized job placement services to clients; negotiate employment opportunities with employers and negotiate wage subsidies as / when needed. •                  Provide follow-up support to employers, regular check-in and provide the necessary support, including accommodation support, to ensure desired outcomes for both employer and client; and  •                  Participate in the marketing and promotional activities associated with employer recruitment.   Qualifications: •                  Post-Secondary Degree in a related discipline and CCDP certification •                  Minimum 2 years directly related experience in the provision of job search skills, resume and cover letter preparation, and job placement services or •                  An equivalent combination of education and experience; the ideal candidate will have one of the following designations: Certified Career Development Professional (CCDP), Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) or Registered Vocational Professional (RVP); Certified Vocational Professional (CVP) or Master’s Certificate: Vocational Professional (MCVP) through the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP); Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC/CCRC) •                  Relevant experience must be within the past 5 years. •                  Successful candidates will be required to pass a Criminal Record Check Demonstrated experience in: •                  Assessing complex client needs in specialized areas, such as physical limitations, developmental disabilities, mobility skills, and cognitive, social, and emotional barriers. •                  Interpreting clinical assessments. •                  Delivering Resume and Cover Letter preparation, Job Search Skills, and individualized Job Placement services. •                  Familiarity with current methods of career counseling, vocational rehabilitation, including assessment, service planning, job search skills, job analysis and job placement. •                  Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. •                  Well-developed time management, organization, and teamwork skills. •                  Demonstrated ability to prioritize, work well under pressure and meet deadlines. •                  Proficient in Microsoft Office. •                  Ability to document, maintain records and write reports. •                  Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Job description

We are searching for an experienced and self-driven Remote Counselor to join our team! In this role, you will mainly be responsible for deliver top-quality mental health counseling to corporate clients. All while working in an remote environment!

Remote Counselor duties and responsibilities

  • Utilize brief, solution-focused interventions to resolve the clients presenting issue
  • Ensure safety for clients who present at risk to harm self / others
  • Ensure that all clients are properly referred to long-term treatment, when clinically appropriate, utilizing their benefit plan and / or community resources
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all client contacts in the Zenovate system per established procedures and processes
  • Maintains clinical responsibility for individual, family and / or group counseling of clients.
  • Provides diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and completes necessary updates as required.
  • Provides effective and efficient management of caseload and transfers / discharges clients in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory performance on identified outcome measures and client satisfaction reports.
  • Participates in program development as requested and where possible.
  • Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.

Remote Counselor requirements and qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology required
  • Independent clinical license required
  • Experience providing direct clinical services and solution-focused therapy
  • Knowledge of treatment issues and EAP services
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service and sound clinical judgment
  • Quick thinking, high energy, positive, and professional, with demonstrated multi-tasking and critical thinking skills
  • High-speed internet, quiet home office set up, and ability to take appointments telephonically or over video
  • Must have good documentation, treatment and assessment skills.
