We are currently looking for a qualified Signal and Communication Foreperson located in Western Canada for our 2024 maintenance and construction season.
As an S&C Construction Foreperson, you will work as part of a team performing moderate to heavy physical labour installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad signaling and communications equipment as well as responding to emergencies and track outages.
S&C Forepersons are responsible for ensuring compliance with all REMCAN and customer safety policies and procedures. In this position, you are required to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of railway industry and signal operations.

Minimum 2 years’ rail experience installing and / or maintaining S&C systems
- Basic knowledge of electrical fundamental Electrical Technician diploma is an asset
- Experience operating heavy equipment on-and-off track is an asset
- Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license and ability to produce a driver’s abstract
- Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR)
- Must pass eRailSafe Canada certification
- Able to pass pre-employment medical which includes drug and alcohol screening
- Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
- Able to work various shifts as required, including weekends and night shifts
- Able to work in various weather conditions all year round
- Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required
- Maintain REMCAN safety guidelines and policies at all times
