PLEASE NOTE : Pursuant to the University's and as a condition of employment, all successful candidates will be required to either submit valid proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or receive a .
Course delivery in Winter 2023 will be online, in-person or hybrid at the sole discretion of the hiring unit. Candidates hired for in-person courses will be required to carry out their teaching on campus.
Candidates teaching remotely are required to have access to the appropriate technology, i.e. computer with camera and microphone and high-speed internet.

Education
A minimum of a Masters Degree is required with an MFA or equivalent preferred. We will
consider candidates who do not have graduate degrees but possess equivalent professional
practice in areas that demonstrate extensive experience in scripted story development, scripted
story production, and content creation with significant followings for their work.
Teaching Experience
Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the area of
scriptwriting and story design at the post-secondary level with a preference for courses taught
at the University graduate level. If applicable, other teaching experience should also be noted
by the candidate such as workshops, delivery of professional training and development, and / or
residencies. Teaching activities that focus on the business aspects of the scriptwriting industry
is preferred.
Candidates will demonstrate an understanding of how to make learning accessible and inclusive
for a diverse student population.
Industry Experience / Practice
Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of professional / industry experience in the
development, production, and financing of scripted projects. Experience in or understanding of
talent representation is an asset. The candidate should demonstrate a high level of industry-
based knowledge in stage, screen, and / or other script-based platforms.
Currency
The successful candidate will demonstrate currency in the area of scriptwriting and story design
over the past 5 years. This may be shown in a number of iterations including, but not limited to :
academic and / or professional publications and presentations, industry experience, and
professionally-oriented activities.
Interactive Skills
Candidates will demonstrate successful interactions with students and stakeholders based on
previous teaching ratings / evaluations, student engagement and leadership skills both in
teaching and professional practice.
