Description

You are a Horizontal Directional Driller in the telecommunication industry and have experience supporting utility maintenance and construction. You will be responsible for operating drilling equipment to install underground telecommunication cable and conduits. As a Horizontal Directional Driller, you will collaborate with project managers, engineers and other team members to meet deadlines, safety and maintaining industry standards and will ensue the precise and efficient placement of infrastructure.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment to safely and accurately install underground conduits and utilities
• Perform directional drilling operations including bore planning, execution, and adjustment based on site conditions
• Install conduits for various cables, pedestals, concrete bases, flush-mount vaults, and enclosures
• Operate and interpret locating equipment to maintain accurate bore alignment and depth
• Coordinate drilling activities with crew members, including positioning or moving loads, and responding to hand or audio signals
• Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines and always acting in a safe manner
• Complete all required daily paperwork, including production and equipment reports
• Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites

Compensation

$35.98 - $44.82 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and / or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
