Maintenance Manager
Role Description
As the Maintenance Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Engineer and play a key role in overseeing and supporting the maintenance team.
Your responsibilities will include managing, mentoring, and developing team members while providing both technical and administrative assistance to tradespeople, maintenance stores, and other departments.
A primary focus of your role will be identifying and addressing recurring maintenance issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
This involves closely monitoring downtime, strategizing shutdowns, and implementing preventative maintenance measures to enhance operational efficiency.
You will also be tasked with managing external contractors for repairs beyond internal capabilities and directly supervising the operations and maintenance of the CKF Steam Plant.
Collaborating with the Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for budget management and will step in to support the Plant Engineer as needed, assuming responsibilities in their absence.
Your role will be dynamic, requiring a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic planning to ensure the smooth functioning of maintenance operations.
Qualifications
As an experienced maintenance leader, you are a great team player, able to work with multiple departments and teams in an organization.
You know how to motivate and coordinate staff to achieve their full potential. You have exceptional time management skills and high attention to detail.
You also have the ability to excel in a demanding, high pace environment and are flexible to changing priorities.
Your qualifications include :
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), or Mechanical or Electrical degree / diploma, or equivalent combination of training and experience would be considered.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, is preferred; Experience within a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Previous experience leading a maintenance team is required.
- Familiarity with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation and safety best practices is an asset.
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
