Tesla Toronto Automation is looking for a highly motivated Process Engineer to actively contribute to the development and management of new assembly lines. This involves utilizing our advanced cell manufacturing equipment specifically designed for Tesla's cutting-edge battery cell—a crucial component in Tesla vehicles and storage systems.

In this role, you will work across new and existing mechanical designs, resolving issues and driving improvements for a wide range of automated equipment and sub-assemblies used in production. As a machine-builder, Tesla Toronto Automation is uniquely positioned to design, prototype, and deploy new automation solutions that accelerate development cycles and support the launch of mass-production manufacturing lines. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Mechanical Design, Controls, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, and Quality, with a strong focus on process development, cost reduction, equipment robustness, and improving yield and throughput across Tesla manufacturing sites worldwide.

What You'll Do
- Implement Engineering Change Orders on existing machinery to unlock capacity and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Lead the process commissioning on new production lines through factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT)
- Participate in the development and maintenance of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans
- Perform Gage R&R analysis with proficiency to resolve gaps in machine performance
- Implement and support Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives
- Work with production staff and engineers to develop, validate, and improve processes used in manufacturing and manufacturability of designs
- Debug process integration issues to ensure interactions between processes are kept under control
- Build process documentation to accurately define the process to cross-functional teams (equipment, quality, production, etc.)
- Develop and train the sustaining team for optimal support in a 24hr production facility
- Execute Design of Experiments (DoE) to optimize process conditions to improve cycle time and process yield without compromising product quality
