Overview
BWXT Canada Ltd. is seeking a Field Engineer to provide pre‑deployment, execution, and closeout support for Field Services projects. The role will travel up to 80% and may involve shift work and extended hours. The position is located in Kitchener, ON and requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Responsibilities
- Review scopes of work, CSA and ASME standards, and technical requirements for project planning.
- Develop and review work packages, procedures, and tooling designs to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical training and lead readiness and lessons‑learned reviews with engineers, technicians, and trades.
- Serve as primary technical contact on site, ensuring work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and standards.
- Monitor work quality, resolve technical issues, and enforce safety and quality protocols.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to address issues and communicate daily progress updates and upcoming priorities.
- Verify completion and accuracy of technical and quality documentation, obtain required approvals, and capture operational experience and lessons learned for future improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.Working toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.Strong understanding of materials, machining, and field execution practices, including Non‑Destructive Examination applications.Familiarity with nuclear codes and standards (ASME III, V, VIII, IX, N285; CSA N286, N299).Skilled in preparing technical reports and communicating complex technical information clearly in English.Knowledge of Human Performance and Foreign Material Exclusion practices.Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical field procedures and provide training to engineers, technicians, and trades.Proven ability to execute and provide direction on critical path activities.Valid driver’s license, personal transportation, and eligibility for nuclear security clearance are required.Security Clearance
This role requires completion of the security clearance process in accordance with Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulations. The clearance process may take up to 12 months.
Salary and Benefits
Base salary range in Ontario : $73,000 – $106,000 per year, potentially varying based on local market factors and individual qualifications. Additional compensation may include an annual cash incentive and a comprehensive benefits package.
