Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. This is a 3+ month contract position designed for a senior individual with strong attention to detail who can bring stability and expertise to our accounting processes. The role offers the opportunity to oversee financial operations, streamline workflows, and ensure accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee and manage bank reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Lead month-end close activities, including preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Optimize and refine financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with managers to transition financial responsibilities and consolidate workflows.
• Assist with system integration and upgrades, ensuring seamless transitions.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
• Develop and implement policies to maintain robust internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• CPA designation or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting role, with a track record of managing complex financial operations.
• Strong expertise in bank reconciliations, month-end close processes, and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with accounting systems.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to streamline and improve financial processes.
• Adept at financial analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and internal controls.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
