About the Opportunity
Fuze HR is partnering with a leading manufacturer and service provider in the commercial and industrial solutions sector. Our client is known for delivering innovative and high-quality systems across North America, with a strong focus on safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.
We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to join their growing Canadian operations. This role offers the opportunity to play a key leadership part within a global organization while overseeing the finance and accounting functions across multiple business units.
The Controller will report directly to the VP of Finance (U.S.-based) and act as a trusted financial advisor to the regional leadership team, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop the Finance Team : Manage and mentor team members across Billing, AR, AP, Payroll, and General Ledger functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Financial Planning & Analysis : Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to provide actionable insights and drive operational performance.
- Month-End and Year-End Close : Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial statements, including balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance & Internal Controls : Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax laws, and other regulatory requirements.
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and present financial results to regional and global leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Strategic Partnership : Collaborate with senior leaders to provide financial insights that support growth strategies, cost control, and investment decisions.
- Audit & Tax Coordination : Manage external audits, liaise with auditors, and oversee all tax-related matters.
- Working Capital & Treasury : Monitor key metrics (DSO, DPO, cash flow) and ensure optimal treasury management.
- Process Improvement : Drive automation and ERP optimization initiatives to streamline financial workflows.
Qualifications
CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent required.Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including 5+ years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and internal control frameworks.Proven experience managing regional or multi-site financial operations.Proficiency with ERP systems (JDE, SAP, or similar) and financial reporting tools (Power BI, advanced Excel).Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.Willingness to travel approximately 50%.What’s in It for You
