The next iteration of our integrated approach relates to the planned export of our natural gas to markets in growing economies overseas.

To achieve this aim, PCE will supply B.C.’s proposed Woodfibre LNG project, which will liquefy the natural gas and load it into vessels.

The natural gas will be shipped to help supply a growing demand for cleaner sources of energy in Asia.

Responsabilidades : THE POSITION

THE POSITION

PCE is currently searching for a Senior Geophysicist based in Calgary. Reporting into the VP, Subsurface, this role will liaise and collaborate with several different groups within PCE including Geology, Field Operations, Reservoir Engineering and Drilling & Completions to incorporate seismic interpretation and mapping into field development and modelling workflows to find and extract oil and gas from PCE assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting seismic data
• Incorporate relevant well information to produce both seismic time and depth reports
• Undertake structural interpretation, mapping, and seismic attribute studies
• Integrate AVO analysis, fluid substitution modeling and pore pressure study analysis
• Provide geophysical support and input for drilling and completion operations
• Perform geophysical studies, write technical reports, prepare and present prospect inventory
• Supervise geophysical aspects of seismic acquisition and processing
• Manage the company’s induced seismicity monitoring program
• Manage the storage, indexing and licencing of the company’s seismic database
• Represent the company in technological and operating committee meetings
• Provide mentorship to junior staff
• Use a range of specialist Geosciences technical software and analytical tools (Petrel, Hampson Russel, Seisware and Transform)
• Remain abreast of the latest technological advancements in the industry
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

About You

• Ability to problem solve and work independently using sound judgement

• Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary technical team, sharing results in an effective manner

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geophysics
• Professional Member of APEGA and / or EGBC
• Overall minimum of 10 years’ technical experience working in the oil & gas industry
• Detail-oriented, team player, committed to continuous improvement, and a strong focus on process safety
• Must have a strong proficiency in a range of specialist Geosciences technical software and analytical tools (Petrel, Hampson-Russell, SeisWare, Transform and geoSCOUT)
• Running reservoir simulation models to support completions, water management and carbon capture
• Experience in and understanding of horizontal drilling and well placement
• Supervising geophysical aspects of seismic acquisition and processing
