We are currently seeking an experienced Geophysicist to join our Geosciences team. A self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and technical skills is required. This dynamic full-time, permanent position is based in Calgary and will report directly to the Manager, Geosciences –
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Work with area teams focusing on seismic data interpretation and analysis to generate exploration, exploitation, pilot, and delineation targets
- Assist in well planning (surface location and landing depth), field development planning and well completion design and strategy
- Analyze development wells during drilling and completion and interpret and integrate results with multidisciplinary team
- Participate in the planning and execution of diagnostic and data gathering plans to optimize pad and well design and recoveries and improve capital efficiency (ex : microseismic, well communication, well productivity, drilling and completion KPIs)
- Support JV, land, and business development in evaluating land swaps, sales, expiries, continuations, A&D activity, non-op notices, abandonments, etc.
- Integrate inversion data to assist in characterization of the reservoir
- Lead initiatives to gain more information from existing data
- Collaborate with counterparts from engineering, land, operations, and geoscience teams to develop budgets and ensure timely execution
- Some light travel may be required (approximately once per year) for field visits
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics is requiredAPEGA Professional Geophysicist with a minimum of 5 years of interpretation and relevant industry experienceSeismic interpretation experience and geophysics workstation knowledge is requiredKnowledge of Seisware, RokDoc, Transform, and Petrel is an assetTechnical background with strong seismic data processing and acquisition knowledge is requiredKnowledge of rock physics, geomechanics, and rock properties are requiredExperience in exploration and exploitation in Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin is requiredKnowledge of induced seismicity and BCER requirements is an assetProven ability to work collaboratively as part of a geosciences team and communicate results effectively within a multi-disciplinary teamKnowledgeable in WCSB geologyWe thank you for your interest in ARC Resources Ltd. however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
