Ecommerce Data Analyst
Overview
New Directions Aromatics is seeking a highly Ecommerce Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analysis within the ecommerce sector, with the ability to process, correlate, and analyze large datasets to uncover trends and insights.
This role requires a proactive individual who can leverage data to forecast traffic and demand, analyze customer engagement, identify conversion friction points, and segment customers to understand attrition rates effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Insight Generation : Process and analyze data from various sources, including order management, CRM, and marketing technologies, to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
- Forecasting and Trend Analysis : Use historical data to forecast future traffic, demand, and customer behavior, helping to inform inventory management, marketing strategies, and product development.
- Engagement and Conversion Analysis : Analyze website and marketing campaign data to understand customer engagement levels, identify points of friction in the conversion funnel, and recommend strategies to improve conversion rates.
- Customer Segmentation and Retention Analysis : Segment customers based on behavior and demographics to identify high-value segments and analyze attrition rates to develop retention strategies that drive customer lifetime value.
- Reporting and Visualization : Create reports and dashboards that clearly communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization, using advanced data visualization techniques.
- Collaboration and Strategy Development : Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to implement data-driven strategies that enhance the customer experience and drive business growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and IT, to develop data-driven strategies and initiatives that drive ecommerce growth and profitability.
- Perform segmentation and cohort analysis to understand customer behavior, preferences, and purchasing patterns, and leverage insights to personalize the online shopping experience.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, promotions, and site enhancements, and provide recommendations for optimization based on data analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in ecommerce analytics to continuously improve processes and drive innovation.
- Act as a subject matter expert on ecommerce data analytics, providing guidance and support to internal teams as needed.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations, reports, and documentation.
- Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the organization.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization of trends, preferably within an ecommerce environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Analytics, with a strong understanding of ecommerce metrics and KPIs.
- Experience with SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of order management systems, CRM platforms, and marketing technologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis techniques.
