Director, Software Engineering, Flow Fabric - Join Us in Vancouver, BC

We are thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Director of Software Development Engineering specializing in AWS-based cloud software and data integrations.

This position is in our Vancouver, BC office within our Digital Product Development Team.

Flow Fabric is the core platform behind many of our products. It provides the integrations and data abstractions that allow our products to connect to many different tools across the software development ecosystem.

Your role will be pivotal in advancing our products into new domains as we expand our integrations and enabling new AI and data analysis capabilities.

The Flow Fabric value stream consists of highly talented and motivated individuals who thrive on tackling complex problems with a high level of autonomy.

What You'll Do

In this influential role, you will :

Build Strategic Alignment and Drive Results : Work closely with product management and key stakeholders to build alignment on strategic goals and guide your teams to follow through on their delivery.

Develop Advanced Cloud Solutions : Apply your deep knowledge of AWS to build robust, scalable cloud software. Your expertise in API integrations and data management will be key to developing innovative data-driven solutions.

Drive Technical Innovation : Guide your teams through the adoption of new technologies while ensuring adherence to best practices in cloud software and data management.

Mentor and Grow your Teams : Share your specialized knowledge to mentor your engineers and managers and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Who We Are Looking For :

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional in AWS cloud software development with a strong foundation in API integrations.

You are a leader who enjoys mentoring, guiding, and inspiring others. Your ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and your passion for pushing the boundaries of cloud technology makes you the perfect fit for this role.

What You'll Bring

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise :

  • 5+ years of experience leading Agile teams (Manager+) and helping them evolve their practices and processes to exceed customer expectations.
  • Proven track record of inspiring your teams to stretch and to grow, creating a positive culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture, particularly for software development, scalability, and data management.
  • Proficiency in integrating cloud-based services and APIs.
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed application architecture
  • Experience with Docker and other containerization technologies for cloud software deployment and environment management.
  • Experience with establishing and improving DevSecOps practices and principles, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI / CD).
  • Strong knowledge of data security and privacy best practices in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with scalable database technologies, data modeling, and management techniques.

Other Beneficial Qualifications :

  • Significant experience with both on-premise and cloud-based solutions.
  • Deep understanding of different authentication methods.
  • Experience with Federal customers, security and compliance standards such as SOC2, FIPS, HIPPA, GDPR.
