As a Human Resources (HR) Consultant, Organizational Development, you will be assigned to support an area of the business based on their individual needs.
For this specific role, you will be assigned to support the Planning and Development Services department. This role will enable you to specialize in project change management and provide expertise in change management to facilitate the successful execution of business initiatives.
You will work as a part of a small team of change management specialists assigned to specific project teams.
Work collaboratively with project teams, learning and development, communications and representatives from the business.
Teams work using both the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and waterfall methodologies. Through the application of PROSCI methodology, your role will support developing change management strategies, plans and tactics to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of initiatives.
It will also involve coaching to develop awareness of the importance of change management in projects and skills of the project teams and business to develop plans and implement tactics.
Primary duties include :
- Develop Change Management Strategies including Impacted and Interested Parties analyses, Socialization Plans, and recommended Adoption Approaches.
- Create Change Management Plans that interpret technical changes in plain language to clearly document the nature and need for the change, ask questions to clarify change and impacts, establish impacted groups, and build alignment and understanding on required support.
- Take a leadership role in coordinating the people-side of the change, working closely with project teams, communications, learning and development and the business to identify tactics, track progress and enable end-user adoption.
- Create recommendations on change sustainment post-project.
- Coach staff in developing change competencies (for example : ADKAR methodology, visible sponsorship, change leadership, storytelling, facilitation, adopting a user focused end-to end approach).
- Measure and report on project success from a change management / adoption perspective.
- Lead and oversee change management processes and make recommendations to improve collaboration, user-focus, innovation, and success in change initiatives.
Qualifications
- A degree combined with at least 5 years of related experience, including sound knowledge and experience change management approaches and practices.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Prosci Certification will be considered an asset.
- Experience in applying Prosci s 3 phase change management approach would be considered an asset.
- Experience in supporting change management for process, policy or technology projects would be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires a proven track record of quickly establishing credibility and trust with clients; a focus on outcomes with a consultative approach using a growth mindset;
and a project management skill set or a willingness to learn.
