The opportunity :

Reporting to the Design & Creative Lead, and in collaboration and partnership with the cross-functional marketing team, the Motion & Graphic Designer will conceptualize, design, and execute a variety of assets to support corporate marketing and advisor objectives.

All Candidates must provide a strong portfolio showcasing professional work examples inclusive of static print, digital and motion graphics - that demonstrate concept development, creativity, and best practice.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Working with the Marketing team to develop custom digital, print, and motion graphics to complement investment advisors and corporate marketing initiatives.
  • Partnering across the broader marketing team to conceptualize, design and develop compelling motion graphics (explainer, logo / typography, and short form video) for use in various marketing mediums such as websites, social media, presentations, events, advertisements, etc.
  • Developing storyboards, including illustrations and infographics to be included in motion graphics, animated text / titles, transitions, advanced GIFs, animated logo sequences, etc.

via editing and combining raw video footage, editing, and syncing audio with video.

  • Designing and delivering a variety of traditional and digital visual content, including booklets, brochures, advertisements, social media graphics, pitch decks, data visualization, marketing collateral, etc.
  • Championing creativity and innovation in what you do.

Managing day-to-day projects (timelines, work backs, status updates, approvals, etc.).

Acting as ambassador and custodian of the Wellington-Altus brand.

Keeping abreast of emerging design and motion graphic trends and competitor operations.

Performing other duties, as assigned (research and product sourcing etc.).

The ideal candidate will possess :

  • A degree or diploma in Motion & Graphics, Video Editing, Graphic Design, Animation, Visual Communications, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in current graphic design practices and digital / video production software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
  • Fluency in current graphic design practices and digital production software, such as Adobe CS / CC products (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, etc.).
  • An ability to translate static imagery and concepts into dynamic motion graphics, including creation of storyboard and design elements with vector graphics.
  • Experience with print and web-based production standards.
  • A strong grasp of branding layout, and typography and a keen eye for sourcing images, footage, music and other assets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel).
  • Knowledge of Figma will be an asset.
  • Exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Able to multi-task and work on various projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven time management abilities as well as strong analytical and technical knowledge.
  • Highly creative, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.
  • Reliable, strong work ethic.
  • Excellent attitude and commitment to providing extraordinary service.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset.
