Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated French Bilingual Accounting Assistant to join our clients dynamic finance team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our accounts payable operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions, particularly within our client's English & French-speaking market.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper procedures and approvals are followed.
  • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable duties, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, vendor reconciliation, and expense report management.
  • Communicate with French-speaking vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor information and payment records.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments in multiple currencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and present findings to management in both English and French.
  • Continuously improve the accounts payable process and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems, preferably with experience in ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Sage300 / ACCPAC is an asset
