Join Thomson Reuters as a Lead QA Software Engineer working on AI‑driven software for professionals and our flagship product, Westlaw.
About the Role
In this fast‑moving role you will lead AI quality strategy, develop testing frameworks and support backend services that power generative AI agents and orchestration systems.
- Lead AI quality strategy for the content engineering team and design a framework using AI for content migration quality checks.
- Work closely with product managers, designers and AI / ML engineers to build testing plans, timelines and release strategy for content migration.
- Innovate, implement and operationalize test frameworks for backend services using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Design and implement backend services that power generative AI agents and orchestration systems.
- Build robust services that support generative AI experiences such as Conversations, Workspaces, Grid and Knowledge Base.
- Develop test suites for backend services and implement AI orchestration systems integrating LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic and other providers.
- Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable and optimized for AI‑driven applications and monitor performance across millions of documents and AI interactions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, related field or equivalent experience.7+ years of hands‑on software development experience in test automation, building scalable web services and APIs.3+ years of hands‑on experience using Python.Expertise in AWS cloud services (Redis, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, Kinesis, KMS, IAM, Secret Manager, etc.) or similar cloud services.Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform, CloudFormation or similar IaC tooling.Strong data engineering background and experience with Retrieval Systems leveraging tools like OpenSearch.Experience implementing modern DevOps best practices in production environments (CI / CD using GitHub Actions and AWS services).Experience with LLMs, AI solutions and evaluation of agentic systems and workflow.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.Pragmatic, curious mindset that drives elegant solutions to complex problems.Strong communication skills that enable articulation of technical concepts to diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to mentor others and contribute to engineering culture.Experience in using AI‑powered tools in SDLC is required.Benefits

Compensation : Base range varies by location. For Ontario, Canada the base compensation range for this role is $140,000 CAD – $175,000 CAD. Additional annual bonus may apply.
Thomson Reuters complies with local laws requiring upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on enterprise and individual performance.
