Privately held distribution company headquartered in the US is looking to hire a Business Manager to oversee the Canadian operations.
The Business Manager will have oversight for accounting, FP&A, tax, cash management, HR, IT, and administrative areas of the organization.
The Business Manager will be an integral member of the senior leadership team and work closely with the Commercial Manager to drive performance across the division.
Responsibilities will include :
- Lead the annual budgeting and planning process
- Perform detailed financial analysis related to costs, product profitability, operating results, pricing, and other key business drivers
- Oversee accounting close and reporting packages
- Manage company fleet, insurance policies, leases, and business contracts
- Handle treasury and cash management duties including managing local banking relationship
- Work closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making
- Directly manage a team of 9
- Handle local HR matters
- Work closely with operations to manage the business and provide guidance
- Make recommendations on how to drive efficiencies and improve processes
- Communicate regularly with corporate headquarter leadership on directives, initiatives, and regional performance
Qualified candidates must possess the following :
- Bachelor's degree required
- Industry experience in distribution, manufacturing, or retail
- Possess a wide breadth of experience to include accounting, finance, treasury, tax, HR, IT, etc
- Excellent business acumen and operational understanding
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
