The Manager Software Engineer is responsible for overall team delivery of requirements gathering architecture and design development quality assurance delivery and internal and external support for the platforms and products in their portfolio. W ill take local responsibility for the execution and success of technical projects operating with scale speed and quality. Working with other key technology and business leaders the selected individual will establish the best engineering practices and influence them through solid design decisions processes and tools across the broader engineering organization. The candidate will oversee multiple teams of mid to senior level engineers and will work with other areas in the Digital Customer organization to constantly evolve our strategy to produce better end user outcomes and relevant offerings in the market.

What you will do :

Gather key platform requirements and product features from the different business security technology key

stakeholders.

Determine work requirements priorities and best use of resources for development projects as well as for

unplanned incidents.

Participate in the planning and prioritization of multiple projects and in the application architecture planning

including system partitioning and framework design.

Create / review detailed estimates for projects including resource allocation timelines and budget.

Review technical decisions to ensure they meet designated design goals.

Develop solutions to CDW coding standards and quality.

Develop and mentor the team through coaching feedback and performance conversations.

Act as the lead to assist with the technological direction of the team.

Participate in the planning prioritization and resource allocation for managing workflow and projects.

Participate in application architecture and framework design.

Make technical decisions to meet the design goals articulated in product road map

Acts as a partner with peers and key stakeholders.

Lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and

determining future direction of the groups technical strategy

Develop and contribute to our business plans staffing budgeting and process decisions that support both

long-term and short-term objectives of the group

Work with team leads to continuously upgrade platforms prioritizing initiatives that have the biggest impact on

technical debt for the products

Partner closely with product leaders on strategic planning process aligning technology vision and strategy with

product and business direction customer service strategy growth strategies and talent strategies

Own non-functional requirements technology standards architectural direction technical documentation and

quality of the code

Maintain the highest levels of security promoting a culture and practice of security awareness

Assess and monitor the impact of new technologies on our markets and product lines.

Develop and mentor the team through coaching feedback and performance conversations.

What we expect of you :

Bachelors degree and 7 years in software development and 1 years of experience managing technology organizations with proven team building and leadership skills O R

11 years of software development experience and 1 years of experience managing technology organizations

Ability to interface and project confidence and clarity directly with senior leaders both internally at CDW and

externally with customers and partners.

Ability to convert strategic plans into actionable programs and projects.

Ability to attract and retain talent.

Ability to create and promote a culture of technology excellence and innovation.

Experience with .NET API design Cloud Architecture and various data storage big data technology and

streaming data processing.

Experience with agile principles including test-driven development continuous integration and test automation

Creative thinker with the ability to solve problems.

Ability to communicate the technical possibilities and limitations of systems to non-technical colleagues in

meaningful and constructive ways.

Pragmatist who is bold willing to think big and encourage teams to act decisively.

History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the

business while meeting deadlines.

Previous management experience a plus

Experience in eCommerce a plus.
