Senior Financial Accountant – Toronto (On-site)
Our client is a leading professional services organization with a national presence. The successful candidate will join a specialized internal operations team that supports leadership throughout the financial life cycles.
This is a high-impact, full-time on-site role based in Toronto, requiring strong financial acumen, collaboration, and discretion in handling sensitive information. The team operates with the agility of a small business unit within a larger organization, offering both autonomy and support as the best of both worlds.
Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Reporting : Prepare, review, and analyze complex financial reports in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Journal Entries & Reconciliations : Perform monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Project Support : Lead smaller initiatives and support larger cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
- Stakeholder Communication : Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, responding to accounting-related inquiries and offering subject matter expertise.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency within financial operations and reporting.
- Executive Reporting : Develop presentations and reports to support strategic decision-making by the leadership team.
- Compliance & Controls : Ensure all financial activities adhere to internal controls and statutory requirements.
- Confidentiality : Handle sensitive financial and personal data with the highest level of integrity.
Requirements
CPA designation (or equivalent) is required.Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably within a professional services partnership structure.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms.Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving approach.Tax Knowledge. Familiarity with partnership, personal, or corporate taxation is considered an asset.REF #LI1366
