What you’ll do in this role and how you’ll contribute to the Billing team are described below.

What You’ll Do

• You’ll own different components of our billing system and work closely with other engineers to build scalable billing APIs.
• Help create generic solutions and tools that improve our billing platform and assist our support teams.
• Develop the next generation of our billing platform using microservices architecture.
• Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with the team; base location in our Kitchener Office is possible.
• Contribute to architecture decisions to help the billing platform scale with rapid growth in the Dialpad customer base.
• Build reusable, well-defined APIs consumed in product code.
• Monitor performance and accuracy of how we bill our customers.
• Build automated tools to enable customers and support teams to perform self-service billing operations.
• Participate in design and code reviews with engineers and product managers, translating business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions and weighing tradeoffs.
• Identify classes of problems across the system and propose long-term engineering roadmaps.
• Mentor new hires to help the team grow.
