Hybrid work and other flexible scheduling arrangements can be made. Who we are looking for : NRSI is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to help maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

The role involves assisting in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

The position requires close collaboration with management, HR, and staff, along with strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

The primary duties and responsibilities for this role include : Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures at NRSI.

Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and safety standards. Manage the internal health and safety onboarding for new staff, assist in Developing training materials, deliver safety training sessions including office tours and initial training.

Manage the internal Health and Safety platform, ensuring training completion, certificate tracking, and accurate documentation.

Handle subcontractor pre-qualifications and ensure adherence to performance metrics. Manage health and safety onboarding for new clients, including policy updates, ISN setup, and document revisions.

Oversee compliance and updates on client platforms such as ISN and Avetta. Support the implementation of safety programs, ergonomic assessments, and job safety plans.

Assist in incident reporting, investigations, and follow up, including the preparation of safety reports. Maintain safety records, and support emergency response planning.

Complete internal audits (i.e., Daily Job safety plans, vehicle circle checks, worker observations etc.). Assist with managing WCB claims, injury reporting, and return-to-work programs, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.

Promote a positive safety culture through communication, training initiatives, and employee recognition programs. Stay current on legal requirements and legislative changes to ensure NRSI remains compliant with safety standards.

Chair and participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings, ensuring regular meetings and inspections, and follow up on action items.

Perform other duties as assigned Your Education : A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field Key Job Requirements : Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably with an Environmental consulting firm.

Strong knowledge of OHSA and other health & safety regulations. Strong communication, interpersonal, organization and analytical skills.
